"From the Judge's Chair" - Judging Clinic
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. May 26, 2013
Clinician: Doreen Horsey
Location: Bridlewood Farms, White City, Sask.
This clinic will be of interest to riders, coaches, those interested in becoming provincial dressage judges as well as anyone interested in becoming more knowledgeable in the sport of dressage.
The clinic will be divided into two parts. The morning session will be a classroom theory session and will consist of "need to know rules," dressage terminology, discussion of the training scale and how it relates to the levels, marks, judge's comments and what they mean and much more. Information on the requirements needed in order to become a provincial dressage judge will also be discussed. The afternoon will be a practical session at Bridlewood Farms with demonstration riders. Riders will be asked to ride a test, will be critiqued, shown ways to improve their ride and will be given the opportunity to re-ride their tests.
Cost of this clinic (including lunch) is $75 and is payable to the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. Please fill out the registration form on the R.D.D.A. website:
and return to the SHF office before May 22nd. Their address is: 2205 Victoria Avenue, Regina, Sask. S4P 0S4

Loreen Larson is looking to lease/sell 4 horses:
GINA...Lovely 9 year old mare that is missing regular attention. 16'2"
Autocrat/Thoroughbred cross. Gina is willing and athletic and loves to go
outside for rides where she is never spooky or flighty. Gina has 3 lovely paces.
She was Loreen's number #1 horse that she was planning on showing this
MISPIANO...Very sweet 12 year old mare from Loreen's retired dressage mare
Mannequin Q.V. and Dutch Warmblood Stallion, Novalis. This 15'2" mare has her
changes, beautiful movement, and loves to jump. She was recently with Jessica
Scott for a month of training as Loreen was going to start to play with her over
small fences. She is very compact and loves to go, she has been actively ridden
until recently. Mispiano is not for a beginner rider but would be great for a
junior looking for a Handy Hunter or dressage horse.
LEXI...4 year old Autocrat mare out of Loreen's horse MISPIANO. Presently
Lexi is in Moose Jaw in training with Jessica Scott and Robbie Lewis. Has been
started over fences. Lexi is much like her mother, Mispiano, is very sweet and
has a lot of go.
AUTOMATIC....'MATT'....4 year old Autocrat gelding out of Loreen's retired
dressage mare Mannequin Q.V. and Autocrat. Big handsome boy (17'2") with loads
of character and charm. He has a very distinctive silly pony whinny but that is
the only wimpy thing about him. In spite of his size he is a big gentle giant
and has been over fences and in flat classes under Robbie in MJ.
All of these horses were originally started with Cain Quam so they have
always been solid and safe mounts.
Loreen is open to consideration of different options for these 4 horses, so
please contact her if you are looking for a horse for temporary or permanent
placement. She is unable to ride for the next 6 months but is hoping that she
can return to riding after September 13th!
