Athlete Assistance Grants

The deadline for submission of Athlete Assistance applications is moved to October 31, 2013.


Applications must be accompanied by follow-up report and receipts.  Applicants will be assessed based on their 2013 performance and training records and funds will be paid shortly after.

Category I:     National Level High Performance Athletes

• All applicants must be current Individual Members of SHF and a Saskatchewan resident.
• All applicants must be current individual members of their Provincial FEI Discipline Club.
• Athletes must be competing at a National Level of an FEI Olympic Sport and actively involved in a competition and training program in the year of Application.  Examples of National level competitions are EC Gold, Silver or Bronze competitions in Dressage and Hunter/Jumpers.  NRHA Competitions are considered National level competitions.  FEI Endurance and Driving events are also recognized in this category.
• Discipline groups of Reining, Dressage and Hunter/Jumper will be involved in developing criteria, and will assess applicants. Names of individual athletes will be put forward by these groups and a maximum of 12 will be awarded High Performance Grants.

Category II:    Provincial Level High Performance Athletes

• All applicants must be current Individual Members of SHF and a Saskatchewan resident. 
• Athletes must be competing at a Provincial or higher level of a Sport Discipline that holds a National Championships and be involved in an active competition and training program in the year of application. Examples of Provincial level competitions include Heritage and Prairie Cup competitions, breed sports, Provincial Youth Groups and like Sport Disciplines.
